Eight injured on Ryanair flight hit by ‘extreme turbulence’, police say

Eight passengers have been injured on a Ryanair flight that diverted to an airport in southern Germany after experiencing “extreme turbulence” as a result of unhealthy climate, police mentioned.

Amongst these injured on Wednesday evening was a two-year-old who suffered bruising and a girl with a head damage, based on Bavarian police.

Three individuals have been taken to an area hospital for remedy, whereas others have been handled on web site, they mentioned.

Ryanair apologised to affected passengers. It mentioned the captain of the flight, from Berlin to Milan, known as forward for medical help and the airplane “landed usually” at Memmingen airport.

Native police mentioned the climate situations meant it had not been doable to land at Munich Airport, so the airplane was diverted to Memmingen, the place it landed “safely and with out additional incident” at 20:44 native time (19:44BST).

An onward flight was not accredited by the Southern Bavaria Aviation Authority on Wednesday night, they mentioned.

Ryanair mentioned it organised “various transport” to Milan that evening, and a substitute flight on Thursday morning.

“We sincerely apologise to passengers affected by this diversion,” it mentioned.

There have been 179 passengers and 6 crew members on board, based on police.

These injured ranged from aged two to 59, and as a precaution all passengers have been checked for accidents, they added.
