Hiker discovered useless on Maine mountain; his daughter continues to be lacking

The physique of a 58-year-old hiker was discovered Tuesday on Mount Katahdin in Maine, days after he and his daughter had been reported lacking. A seek for the daughter is ongoing, officers stated Wednesday.

Tim Keiderling and his daughter, Esther Keiderling, 28, went lacking on Sunday. He was discovered useless on the Tablelands space of the mountain, Baxter State Park stated in a press launch.

Crews, together with sport wardens, rangers, and Ok-9 groups, are looking Mount Katahdin each on the bottom and from the air for Esther, the park stated. Maine Forest Service Helicopters and Maine Military Guard Helicopters are helping.

Search efforts will think about the Tablelands and trails and streams on the East aspect of the mountain.

The pair, from Ulster Park, New York, left the Abol Campground on Sunday to hike the summit, the park stated.
