Puerto Rico Supreme Courtroom permits ‘X’ as a 3rd gender selection on start certificates

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Activists on Monday celebrated a choice by Puerto Rico’s Supreme Courtroom to permit nonbinary and gender-nonconforming individuals to replace their start certificates.

The ruling comes after a gaggle of six nonbinary individuals filed a lawsuit towards Puerto Rico’s governor, its well being secretary and different officers.
