Trump ‘disillusioned’ with Elon Musk’s assaults on funds invoice
BBCUS President Donald Trump says he was “very shocked” and “disillusioned” along with his former ally Elon Musk’s criticisms of his centrepiece funds invoice.
“Elon and I had a terrific relationship. I do not know if we are going to anymore,” Trump advised reporters within the White Home on Thursday.
It was the president’s most direct criticism but of Musk’s lobbying efforts towards the proposals to chop taxes and slash authorities spending – a plan that has drawn criticism from Musk and a few Republicans.
In response, Musk doubled down on X, saying that the invoice was crammed with “pork” – wasteful authorities spending – and writing: “Both you get a giant and ugly invoice or a slim and delightful invoice.”
